We offer specialized tours, exploring the backroads surrounding Bozeman and Big Sky, Montana. Our trips are tailored to meet your individual interests and focused on understanding and interacting with the natural world.   Most of our trips are designed for small groups, couples or solo travelers.  Trips begin at your lodging or a designated meeting place and are in the early evening- a time with less traffic, fewer crowds, and more wildlife activity.  These are perfect adventures to top of your time in the area. Capture the stunning beauty of Montana with an evening tour, focused on seeking incredible scenery and wonderful wildlife.  We pick you up at your lodging or meet you at a convenient location

Experience the thrill of spotting Montana's iconic wildlife in their natural habitat, and enjoy stopping for awe inspiring views.  We will share prime viewing locations, and insights into the local ecosystem.

We take backroads and hit the spots locals go, in search of elk, buffalo (bison), deer, moose, antelope and incredible views. 

We can cater to your interests and go in search of wildlife, bald eagles, hawks and more.  We will show you some of the wildest and most beautiful spots in the area while searching for the regions famous species.  Binoculars, Spotting scope and Bottled water included

Paddling  (canoe or kayak)

Evening Paddling Focused Tour

Location: Near Bozeman & Ennis, Montana

Paddle your own watercraft with us, on one of Montana's beautiful water ways.  We will lead you along a scenic paddle trip, in the evening, when the sun is getting low, the crowds have gone home and the wildlife and birds are starting to get active.  We can pick you up at your lodging or meet somewhere convenient.  No experience necessary, we provide all the equipment.

Private Classes & Workshops

Turn up the energy and enthusiasm for your group or family with a fun, educational and interactive presentation.  We can come to your location, whether campfire or classroom.  Our founder,  Jason Matthews, is a certified Master Naturalist, and has been a presenter for the National Geographic Society for over a decade.  He’s spoken for groups throughout the USA, Canada, Greenland and Iceland.  We can come to your location (or provide one) for educational talks on Wildlife related topics for your group or event. We offer presentations on Wolves, Grizzly Bears, Wilderness Travel, Public Lands, Primitive Skills, Wilderness Survival and more.  Contact us for more information.  

 

Campfire or Classroom Talks

Let us inform, educate and entertain your group with stories from the Wildest Places in Montana.  We can come to your campfire or classroom and share skills and experiences with your crew.  This is a great way to spend an evening and learn about Montana.

Fees start at $300

Bear Safety Class

Montana is Bear Country!  Learn how to travel and explore when sharing the woods with Grizzlies. Course will include bear biology, safety practices while recreating and how to prevent and handle bear encounters. Participants will also have a chance to practice using inert bear spray.  This is a fun, hands-on and educational experience.  Essential for those who want to venture deeper into our wildlands.

7pm-8:30pm /1-8 people $200 / 8 plus people $300  /  Location to be decided with each group      

Wilderness Survival Workshop

Learn the core skills of survival - shelter, water, fire – hands-on. Become competent in taking care of your survival needs in the wilderness. See the outdoors with new eyes.

Come away with practical life-saving skills, a deeper relationship with nature, greater confidence, and resources to share with your family & friends for fun and in emergencies.

In this clinic you will:

  • Learn the survival mindset
  • Learn how to build a shelter
  • Learn how to make fires
  • Learn how to find and purify water

Winter Adventure

Join a naturalist guide, and explore the Bozeman & Big Sky area's magical winter landscapes with snowshoeing and sight-seeing.  Discover the tranquility of frosted forests and snow-covered peaks.

Duration: 3 hours
